Portgordon grain

Image loadingPortgordon Malting plant was built on a green field site on the Moray Firth coast near to the mouth of the River Spey during 1978 / 79. Ideally situated to supply the malt distilleries on Speyside it is also, like all our malting plants, in the heart of a top quality malting barley growing area.

A program of continuous upgrading and expansion means the plant capacity is now in excess of 40,000 tonnes. Recent capital projects include the complete refurbishment of the malt kiln with a new roof and improved insulation and a state of the art steep room, fully automated and stainless steel from top to bottom.

Portgordon manager, Graham Taylor is a diploma maltster and has more than 25 years experience in the malting industry.
