The Crisp Malting Group Limited business is positioned in the food chain between farming and the final consumer. Consequently our production plants are found in rural, and often environmentally sensitive, locations.

Recognising and respecting this, we are committed to the maintenance of an environmental management system to manage our environmental impacts, prevent pollution and to continuously improve our environmental performance.

Our process produces little waste and our natural organic co-products are used for animal feed. To minimise environmental impact we source our barley from farms local to our production plants.

Successful implementation of environmental management programs and objectives have resulted in water use at Great Ryburgh decreasing by 17% over the last 5 years and the degree of waste recycling increasing to the current level of 98%. The installation of combined heat and power generation units at some sites ensures the highest energy efficiencies and optimises primary energy use.
